The 2017–19 Works for Queensland (W4Q) program supports regional councils to undertake job-creating maintenance and minor infrastructure projects. More than 600 projects have been approved and councils estimate the works will support, sustain or create almost 6,000 jobs in regional towns and cities battling high unemployment.
Works for Queensland has funded projects in the Shire which without the funding would not have been possible.
Mayor Ramon Jayo said 'Works for Queensland has been very good for our shire, enabling Council to devliver on community needs'.
