In accordance with the Hinchinbrook Shire Council Fees and Charges Schedule, the provision of limited Building Certification Services are noted as Price On Application (POA). This reflects that Council engages an external third-party private certifier to undertake the required assessment where an Applicant is unable to source certification independently.
Council's total fees will include the POA amount advised by the contracted certifier for the proposed building works, plus a 20% on-cost recovery and applicable administration charges. This service is provided as a last resort in accordance with Council's obligations under the Building Act 1975 to ensure building assessment services are accessible within the local government area.
