PAW is an annual event to raise awareness within the public sector and the broader community about the importance of protecting and respecting personal information. It is a great reminder about the importance of protecting our personal information in our day-to-day activities.
Advances in technology can potentially improve our standard of living, safety and give us access to greater information so that we can be informed, but it can also bring with it the potential to intrude further into our personal lives.
Queenslanders’ personal information must be protected and now, more than ever, agencies need to ensure they’re getting privacy right, because it helps build and maintain community trust. When agencies introduce new technology to products, services or systems, it also must be done in a way that enhances transparency, accountability and security.
