Update on the fires in the Hinchinbrook Shire

Update on fires in the Hinchinbrook area as at 0800hrs 3 December 2018.

The QFES Forward Control Point remains at the Ingham Fire Station to provide guidance and assistance to local response capability for the Rungoo (Cardwell Range) and Mount Fox fires.

• Cardwell Range, Rungoo – As at 0754hrs 03/12/2018 – Fire is continuing to burn within property containment lines and is being monitored by QFES, QPWS and HQ Plantation resources.
• Dalrymple Road, Abergowrie – As at 0800hrs 03/12/2018 – Fire is burning in the Abergowrie State Forrest. QPWS will be strengthening containment lines today. Fire is still up in the hills and is posing no threat to structures at this time. NQ Plantations, QPWS and QFES continue to monitor.
• Pappins Road, Helens Hill – As at 0800hrs 03/12/2018 – Landowners continue to monitoring.
• Mount Fox Road, Mount Fox – As at 2011hrs 02/12/2018 – Fire is burning within containment lines.
  QFES crews and QPWS crews continue to monitor. Air assets will be mapping the fire again this morning. Forward Control Point based in Ingham continues to manage this incident.
• Nebbias Road, Yuruga – As at 0800hrs 03/12/2018 – Landowners continue to monitor.

Smoke haze throughout the district remains heavy.
