Overnight closures of the Bruce Highway - Yabulu Postponed

Recently the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) sent out notifications about an upcoming series of overnight closures of the Bruce Highway, to remove the damaged rail overpass at Yabulu, north of Townsville. Initially, these closures were planned for late August or September. Queensland Rail (QR), who own the overpass structure, have advised TMR that further investigations are required before the removal can safely take place. As a result, the closures will need to take place at a later dateOnce further clarification has been received from QR and dates have been confirmed, we will be back in contact to let you know.Just a reminder:

• We will provide at least 2 weeks of notice prior to the closures so that motorists can make alternative plans.
• Emergency services (police, ambulance and Fire and so on) will be given access through the works at all times.
• The closure will take place outside of school holidays or special events, due to the high number of motorists travelling at this time.
