Media Release - New Park Signs Celebrate Centenary of Rotary

26th August 2021

New signage has recently been installed in several local public parks in Ingham to help celebrate 100 years of Rotary International in Australia.

The Rotary Club of Hinchinbrook has partnered with Council to install new signs in Rotary Park, Interact Park and Rotaract Park.

Hinchinbrook Rotary Club President, Andrew Cripps, said ‘Rotary is proud of its historical association with Ingham’s local public recreational areas’.

‘This year Rotary is celebrating its centenary in Australia and our club wanted to do something to mark this important anniversary’ said Mr Cripps.

‘Last year, we included replacing, updating and installing new signs in these parks in our club plan, to modernise our local Rotary message’.

‘Council was already doing capital works in Rotary Park, so it was a great opportunity to add value to an important local project’.

Mr Cripps said the Rotary Club of Hinchinbrook was proud to be an active community service organisation in the Hinchinbrook Shire.

‘The new signs include current information about our club and have been manufactured to be consistent with Council’s corporate style guide’.

‘We are very pleased to have had the opportunity to work with the Council on this project and we thank Council for its efforts’.

Mr Cripps said the Hinchinbrook Rotary Club supports many local, national and international projects and always welcomes new members.
