Entry to Pelorus Island Prohibited - 19 March 2018 to 23 March 2018

Pest control program - Firearms in use (aerial and on ground activity)

Hinchinbrook Shire Council will be conducting a pest control program on Pelorus Island from Monday 19 March until Friday 23 March 2018. The program includes aerial and ground-based shooting.

Public entry to Pelorus Island is prohibited during this closure. Serious injury or death could result from entering this area. All current permits are suspended for this period. Council also requests that mariners observe a 1nm exclusion zone around Pelorus Island for the duration of the control program.
