Eligible Items for the Storm Season Clean-up Days

Storm Season is almost here.

With the second Storm Season Clean-up Day this Saturday 11 November 2023, now is the time to prepare your property by reducing the outdoor clutter that could cause personal injury or damage.

Council would like to remind all Hinchinbrook residents that free disposal at the Warrens Hill Landfill and Resource Recovery Centre (WHLRRC) only applies to eligible outdoor items and not all waste.

This is not a free dump day.

No general household waste, food waste, car bodies, tyres, mattresses or commercial waste will be accepted under the free program and will attract a fee on the day.

As it may be busy, Council asks that patience and respect be shown to all staff working at the WHLRRC on the day.

For further information regarding the eligible items and Terms and Conditions, please visit Council's website, Get Ready Hinchinbrook Storm Clean-Up page.

Level One Water Restrictions Remain in Place

Reminder to residents that water restrictions are still in effect year round in our community.

Please be mindful of the following guidelines for sprinkler usage based on your house number:

  • Even numbered houses: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; and
  • Odd numbered houses: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Remember, no sprinklers are allowed on Sundays.

Residents can use hand held watering devices any day of the week.

Let us continue to work together to conserve our precious water resources.

Metered Standpipes

Council would like to remind residents that the use of Council’s Water Network can only be done so through a permit which issues a metered standpipe.

Council is urging any residents to report any suspicious activity regarding the use of Council’s water network to our Utility Services Department.

Alternatively, further information is provided on Council’s website, Hiring a Metered Standpipe page.
