Media Release - Council Announces People’s Choice Award Winner for the 45th Hinchinbrook Art Awards

1st February 2024

The 45th Hinchinbrook Art Awards celebrated and acknowledged outstanding artistic achievements across various media, providing a valuable platform for both emerging and established artists to exhibit their boundless creative talents. This event, a highlight in the region's cultural calendar, continues to enrich the local art scene and foster artistic growth.

Visitors to the TYTO Regional Art Gallery were given the privilege to vote for their favourite artwork in the People's Choice Award category. This public voting period was open from Friday 8 December 2023 through to Sunday 28 January 2024. We appreciate the participation of art enthusiasts who took the time to cast their votes.

Hinchinbrook Shire Council is thrilled to unveil the winner of the People's Choice Award for the 45th Hinchinbrook Art Awards.

Congratulations to Shamieka Hawkins, entrant 53 “Beauty Within”.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the generous sponsors and local businesses who have played a pivotal role in making the 45th Hinchinbrook Art Awards possible. Your unwavering support for the arts is invaluable to our community.
