Sweet, Sweet Port: Lucinda

In the early 1900s, passengers would disembark at Lucinda Beach to gain their sea legs before continuing their journey to Dungeness aboard smaller vessels.

The road to Lucinda was not formed until 1930 under the Federal Aid Scheme, after earlier attempts by the Hinchinbrook Shire Council were unsuccessful in securing sufficient funding.
