How your bins are collected

We partner with MAMS Group to, provide effecient waste and recycling services.

We use split‑body collection trucks that collect both general waste and recycling at the same time.

One truck, two compartments

Your waste and recycling are never mixed: one compartment is for general waste

  • one is for recycling

This design keeps waste streams separate from collection to processing.

Why this system is used

  • reduce the number of trucks on local roads

  • lower fuel use and emissions

  • minimise noise and traffic impacts

  • maintain correct recycling practices

See how it works

The video below shows how the truck collects general waste and recyclables during the same run while keeping them separate inside the vehicle.

This collection method supports efficient services while ensuring recyclable material is handled correctly.

#DontWasteHinchinbrook app

With the app, you can:

  • Check your bin collection days

  • Receive collection reminders

  • Order replacement bins or bin parts

  • Quickly access waste and recycling information

Important information for Mount Fox residents

If you live in the Mount Fox area, household kerbside bin collection isn’t currently available, so your address won’t appear in the Kerbside Collection Calendar.

Instead, residents can use a community skip bin, which is emptied weekly and located at Bull Hill on Mount Fox Road.

Recyclables can be taken to the Mount Fox Community Recycling Hub near the corner of Mount Fox and Stone River Roads. For the lock combination, contact Council.
