The Summer Reading Club is a FREE program for book-loving kids aged 6 – 12. It’s all about reading, having fun, and shelf-brating the summer holidays with a chance to win some novel prizes!
Each participant will receive their very own Reading Book Log—because every great adventure deserves a map! Once you register, you’ll also snag a ticket into our raffle draw. Talk about a plot twist!
How Can My Child Get Involved?
- Pop into Hinchinbrook Shire Library or Halifax Library to sign up for the Summer Reading Club. Upon registering, your young reader will receive a Reading Book Log and a raffle ticket — because reading shouldn’t just be fun… it should be rewarding!
- To complete the challenge, participants simply record all the books they read in their log. The reader who racks up the most titles will turn the final page as our Most Read Book Prize champion! Plus, everyone has a chance at winning a raffle prize when winners are announced on Friday 23 January 2026 at our book-blasting Summer Reading Club Party!
- Kids will need their own library card. If they don’t have one yet, a parent or guardian can sign them up for FREE with a Library Membership Form and photo ID. Easy as pie … or should we say, easy as reading before bedtime!

- Sign-up day (aka: the first chapter of our adventure).
- Explore the library’s treasure trove and borrow books to kickstart your reading quest!
Fun in the Library

- Collect your Reading Book Logs.
- Browse and borrow even more books — because one story is never enough!
- Jump into fun activities like DIY bookmarks, a Book Scavenger Hunt, and the “What Am I?” Riddle Challenge. It’s bound to be riddik-ulous fun!
Summer Reading Club Party
Friday 23 January 2026 from 10:30am at Hinchinbrook Shire Library, 73-75 McIlwraith Street, Ingham
- Return all completed Reading Book Logs.
- Enjoy book-themed party fun!
- Cheer for the winners as prizes are announced and presented!
What Can You Win?
Participants who complete their Reading Book Log will be in the running for:
- Most Read Book Prize — for the ultimate page-turning champion!
- Raffle Ticket Prize — because sometimes luck writes the best stories!
