Public Notice - Unplanned water supply outage - Cordelia and Halifax

Update #3 – 15 May 2026 @ 2.25 pm

Water supply has now been restored. Crews are currently flushing hydrants to clear the system. Residents in the affected area are advised to run their taps briefly to help flush the pipes and remove any air. If you experience any issues, please contact Council on (07) 4776 4600.


Update #2 ON Friday 15 May 2026 @ 1.30 pm

Crews are continuing to work on the broken water main at Cordelia. Approximately 20 homes between Blue Butterfly Road and Musgrave Street are currently without water. We appreciate your patience while repairs are underway. We will provide a further update once water supply has been restored.

Hinchinbrook Shire Council advises residents and businesses of a suspected broken water main impacting water supply to the Halifax end of Cordelia.

Crews are onsite and working to complete repairs as quickly and safely as possible.

Further updates will be provided as new information becomes available.

Council apologises for any inconvenience this disruption may cause and appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation.
