Hinchinbrook Shire Council will be undertaking repairs to the stormwater drainage system beneath McIlwraith Street at the intersection of Jane Street, from:

Friday 18 September 2026 to Sunday 20 September 2026, weather permitting.

Why this work is needed

These works are required to repair stormwater infrastructure beneath McIlwraith Street and ensure the ongoing safety, reliability and effective operation of the drainage network. The repairs will help maintain the integrity of the system and reduce the risk of future drainage issues in the area.

What to expect

  • Inspection and construction vehicles will be operating in the area and parked on Jane Street;
  • Minor traffic disruptions on McIlwraith Street;
  • Traffic controllers will be on site to ensure the safety of workers and road users;
  • Temporary closure of Jane Street, with detours in place; and
  • Reduced speed limits may apply on McIlwraith Street during the works.
