Public Notice - Temporary Road Closure, Intersection of McIlwraith

Hinchinbrook Shire Council will be undertaking an inspection of the stormwater system beneath McIlwraith Street at the intersection of Jane Street on:

Saturday 23 May 2026 to Monday 25 May 2026, weather permitting.

Why this work is needed

This inspection is being carried out to assess the condition of the underground stormwater infrastructure. Regular inspections help Council identify any issues early and ensure the system continues to function effectively, particularly during heavy rainfall, reducing the risk of flooding and damage.

What to expect

  • Inspection trucks will be parked on Jane Street;
  • Minor interruptions to traffic on McIlwraith Street;
  • Traffic control will be on site for the safety of workers and road users;
  • Jane Street will be temporarily closed, with detours in place; and
  • Reduced speed limits may apply on McIlwraith Street during the works.
