Public Notice - Taylors Beach Road Water Main Relocation Project

Hinchinbrook Shire Council advises that it is currently progressing the planning, design and approval phase of the Taylors Beach Road Water Main Relocation Project.

The project will relocate an existing section of water main and install approximately 805 metres of new water main infrastructure within the Taylors Beach Road reserve.

The project will improve the long-term reliability of the reticulated water supply network serving the Taylors Beach community.

It will also provide improved access for future maintenance and operational works.

Council is currently undertaking the necessary environmental assessments and approval processes required before construction can commence.

As this project while limited to road reserve footprint, is located within the coastal district meaning approval is required from relevant State agencies.

These approval processes are taking longer than originally anticipated, which has delayed the commencement of construction works.

At this stage, all proposed works are expected to occur within the existing road reserve.

If access to private property is required during the planning or construction phases, affected landowners will be contacted directly and consent sought where necessary.

Construction start dates and expected project timeframes will be confirmed once the necessary approvals have been obtained.

Further updates, including anticipated construction schedules and any traffic impacts, will be provided as more information becomes available.
