Public Notice - Planned water outage, Hawkins Street, Ingham

Published on 24 May 2026

Hinchinbrook Shire Council advises residents of planned water main extension works in Hawkins Street, Ingham, as part of Council's ongoing water main renewals program.

These works will be carried out between Monday 1 June 2026 and Friday 12 June 2026 (weather permitting).

As part of these essential works, a temporary water outage will be required to connect the new infrastructure to the existing network. Water supply will be interrupted on:

Tuesday 2 June 2026

From approximately 10:00am for up to 2 hours

The planned outage will affect the following areas:

  • Properties between 13 and 25 Hawkins Street; and
  • All streets within the Ardrossan Estate, including Ardrossan Street, Yeldham Street, Von Alpin Street, Simpson Street, Maria Court, Townsend Street and Hecht Street.

Council requests that residents minimise water usage during this period to assist in maintaining system stability. Following restoration of supply, some households may experience discoloured water or temporary fluctuations in water pressure.

If this occurs, please run taps for up to five minutes, or until the water runs clear. Where possible, consider repurposing flushed water for gardening or lawn irrigation.

Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and appreciates the community’s understanding and cooperation while these important water infrastructure improvements are undertaken.

For further information, please contact Council’s Customer Service Centre on (07) 4776 4600.
