Public Notice - Hydrant Refurbishment Program - Temporary Water Outage

Published on 03 September 2025

Hinchinbrook Shire Council wishes to advise residents that a hydrant refurbishment program will be carried out in Lucinda, weather permitting.

Approximately 136 properties will have temporary water service outages during this program which will begin:

  • 9am-5pm on Thursday 11 September 2025
  • 9am-5pm on Friday 12 September 2025

The following streets will be affected during this period:

  • 60 properties along Carr Crescent, Ogg Street and Pearson Street, Lucinda
  • 40 properties along Patterson Parade, Lucinda
  • 36 properties along Bruce Parade, Vass Street and Rigby Street, Lucinda

These essential works are part of Council’s ongoing commitment to improving water pressure and fire safety infrastructure.

Once the water supply has been restored, residents may experience instances of discoloured water.

If discoloured water occurs, Council recommends flushing tap water for up to five minutes or until the water becomes clear. It is also recommended that any flushing water be used on your garden or lawn.

Council thanks the community for its patience as these works are being carried out. Call Council’s customer service centre on 4776 4600 or email council@hinchinbrook.qld.gov.au for more information.
