Public Notice - Fireworks Display Ingham Maraka Festival

Council advises that there will be a fireworks display as part of the Ingham Maraka Festival, scheduled to begin at approximately 8.00pm Saturday 25 October 2025.

Residents are encouraged to prepare for loud noises associated with the fireworks display and take precautions to keep pets safe and calm. Fireworks can cause distress for animals due to their sudden flashes and loud bangs.

To help minimise stress:

  • Keep pets indoors during the display, preferably in a quiet, secure room;
  • Close windows and curtains to reduce noise and visual stimulation;
  • Provide familiar bedding or toys to comfort them;
  • Play calming music or white noise to help mask the sound of fireworks; and
  • If your pet is particularly anxious, you may wish to speak with your vet about additional calming options.

Taking these steps can help ensure the safety and wellbeing of your pets during the event.
