Hinchinbrook Shire Council would like to advise that the upgrade works to replace the Shire Hall’s cold room are now underway.
The Shire Hall remains open for hire however cold room facilities will not be available until Monday 31 August 2026.
Hirers during this period must arrange alternative cooling. Limited eskies may be available on request.
The new cold room is expected to be installed by late August 2026 (subject to contractor availability) with all works expected to be completed ahead of scheduled major events later in the year.
Bookings will remain open throughout this period and can be made as usual via Venue Hire, with consideration of the temporary change to facilities.
Council thanks the community for their understanding while these important upgrades are undertaken.
