Hinchinbrook Shire Council advises that the Hinchinbrook Aquatic Centre will be closed from:
Thursday 1 October 2026 to Saturday 3 October 2026.
Contractors have been on site since earlier this month undertaking preparatory works as part of the ongoing recovery program following the February 2025 flood event.
The temporary closure is required to allow for the replacement of shade sails at the centre.
Council will update the community if further closures are to be made for future works at the centre.
Council thanks residents for their patience and understanding while these improvements are carried out.

These works are being delivered under the joint Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) in association with Hinchinbrook Shire Council.
