Boil Water Alert Now Lifted, Taylors Beach

Published on 03 March 2026

Issued 2.00 pm on 7 March 2026

Hinchinbrook Shire Council advises all residents of Taylors Beach that tap water used for drinking and cooking is now safe to consume.

There is no longer a public health concern regarding the quality of drinking water following the restoration of the water supply on Tuesday night, after the water main broke in a section within a swamp area.

The water is now considered safe for all typical uses, including:

  • Drinking
  • Preparing food and beverages
  • Personal washing
  • Dishwashing
  • Laundry
  • Flushing toilets

Council has worked closely with Queensland Health this week to resolve the situation as quickly as possible. Water quality testing and spot checks have been undertaken to ensure the safety of the drinking water, and Council will continue to closely monitor the situation.

Residents are asked to share this notice with neighbours and friends.

Council thanks residents for their patience.
