Expressions of Interest - Hinchinbrook Country Universities Centre

Hinchinbrook Shire Council in collaboration with the Country Universities Centre (CUC) is committed to establishing a Regional University Study Hub in Ingham. These study hubs are innovative initiatives designed to enhance access to higher education opportunities for students in regional and remote areas whilst remaining in their local community.

These hubs are developed by and for their local communities, emphasising accessibility and tailored support for regional students. The program aims to enhance educational opportunities and bridge the gap between regional areas and higher education institutions.

Council is actively searching for six community champions to form a voluntary working group, which will help drive this project into fruition. We are seeking individuals with a strong collaborative skillset, a talent for fostering strong relationships across diverse stakeholders, passion and enthusiasm.

As a member, you will become part of a dynamic group of dedicated lifelong learners committed to reshaping the landscape of regional education by bringing university degrees within closer reach of regional and rural Australians.

How to Apply

Prospective candidates are invited to submit their expression of interest by providing a one to two page cover letter accompanied by their Curriculum Vitae. Applications should detail the applicant’s experience in working with or serving on committees or boards, emphasising relevant skills in one or more of the following areas:

• Corporate Governance;
• Finance/Accounting;
• Law;
• Marketing/Public Relations;
• Business Management;
• Human Resource Management;
• Community Health; or
• Education.
