Free Work Safe Health Forum

16th January 2019

Council is hosting a Work Safe Health Forum on Thursday 31 January 2019 from 1.00pm in the Hinchinbrook Shire Hall. This Forum is open to local employers, employees and community members to attend.

The purpose of the Forum is to enable a combined approach to health and wellbeing, safety awareness and injury prevention in the workplace, at home and in the community.

The afternoon will include presentations from the following speakers:

  • Shane Webcke, Work Safe Ambassador
    Shane will share the story of how his father’s death on the farm impacted his family, and offer advice to workers and businesses about the importance of staying safe at work and creating a strong safety culture.
  • Jed Millen, Work Safe Advocate
    Jed's career as a rigger ended when the bridge deck he was working on collapsed under his feet and he fell five metres onto the ground, permanently injuring his upper spine vertebrae.
  • Kara Schifilliti, Occupational Therapist 
    Optimise Health and Wellbeing
  • Judy Hill, Psychologist /Mental Health Nurse
    Ingham Hospital

The Forum is free to attend however bookings are essential as limited seating is available.
