Hinchinbrook Shire Council welcomes the LNP’s pledge of $300,000 to develop a Tourism Master Plan should they form Government.
A Tourism Master Plan will help prepare the district for growth in the tourism industry with a key objective to be attracting new investment and tourism infrastructure into the Shire. Council is committed to pursuing opportunities which diversify the economy of the district, with tourism playing a major part in the future prosperity of the region.
Through The Hinchinbrook Way, Council has been actively working towards developing the district into an internationally recognised tourism destination. Developing a Tourism Master Plan will build confidence in the region, prepare key sites for tourism infrastructure and highlight job creating opportunities.
$300,000 for Master Planning purposes will go a long way towards a Tourism Master Plan for the district. Eco-tourism, edu-tourism and adventure opportunities are out there, and with our abundance of natural attractions, the Hinchinbrook is perfectly placed to take advantage of these.
