Hinchinbrook Shire Council is seeing a rise in vandalism across parks and playgrounds, with several public facilities damaged or defaced in recent weeks.
Damaged play equipment, graffiti, and vandalised toilets are not only costly to repair but they pose serious safety risks to children and the wider community.
Council would like to remind all residents to treat public spaces with care and respect.
Residents and visitors are urged to clean up after themselves, dispose of rubbish appropriately, and refrain from writing on or leaving notes on any public facilities.
Vandalism is a criminal offence. Those caught damaging public property may face fines, criminal charges, and liability for repair costs.
