Hinchinbrook Shire Council wishes to advise residents that bitumen sealing works will be carried out on Mount Fox Road on:
Tuesday 7 October 2025 and Wednesday 8 October 2025
Sealing crews will be on-site from 8.00am to 5.00pm each day, weather permitting. During this period, motorists are advised of the following:
- Expect extended delays of up to 30 minutes;
- Follow all traffic signage and obey speed limits; and
- Consider alternative travel times to minimise inconvenience.
These essential works are jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) and administered through the Queensland Reconstruction Authority.
The sealing works forms part of the broader Mount Fox Road Upgrade Program, which includes pavement rehabilitation to improve safety, resilience, and long-term access along this critical transport corridor.
Once completed, the upgrade will improve reliability for local residents, emergency services, and other users of this road particularly during wet weather events.
Council acknowledges the inconvenience these works may cause and sincerely thanks the community for its patience and understanding as we undertake improvements to this important transport corridor.
Council will continue to provide updates to the community and industry stakeholders as the project progresses.
