Hinchinbrook Shire Council advises residents in the Halifax and Cordelia areas that a temporary water outage will occur on:
Wednesday 26 August 2026, weather permitting.
These works form part of the upgrade of approximately one kilometre of water main infrastructure in the Eddlestone Drive and Halifax Road area.
From 9.00am on Wednesday 26 August 2026, temporary water interruptions will affect some properties in the following area:
Approximately one hour
- Musgrave Street
Approximately three hours
- Four Mile Road
- Barbagallos Road
- Blue Butterfly Road
- Eddlestone Drive
Following the restoration of water supply, some properties may experience temporary water discolouration or fluctuations in water pressure.
If this occurs, please run your taps for up to five minutes or until the water runs clear.
Council will provide further updates to the community as additional information regarding the water main upgrade becomes available.
This is funded by Council’s 2026-2027 Budget.
