Hinchinbrook Shire Council would like to remind residents of their responsibilities regarding the disposal of green waste.
Council is currently experiencing ongoing issues with the illegal dumping of palm fronds, grass clippings, and tree branches on Council land.
Residents are responsible for disposing of their own green waste with free disposal is available at the Warrens Hill Landfill and Resource Recovery Centre and Halifax Resource Recovery Centre.
Council does not collect green waste or debris from private properties or Council land if it has been illegally dumped. Illegal dumping spreads weeds, especially from ornamental plants, and negatively impacts both Council and private land.
Let’s work together to keep Hinchinbrook clean and green. Please dispose of your green waste responsibly and help protect our local environment.
For more information visit the Council office at 25 Lannercost Street, Ingham or call customer service on (07) 4776 4600.
