Hinchinbrook Shire Council sets cost recovery fees under the Local Government Act 2009 to reflect the cost of providing services or facilities used by the community.
During the adoption of the 2025–2026 Schedule of Fees and Charges, the waste disposal fees for ‘Car with Trailer – Trailer Only’ and ‘Van/Ute with Trailer – Trailer Only’ were unintentionally omitted.
To correct this, Council proposes to add a fee of $21.00 for both categories to the current schedule.
If any residents believe they’ve been incorrectly charged since 1 July 2025 and would like to seek a refund, please contact Council.
