Planning Act 2016 - Adoption of Hinchinbrook Shire Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP) 2018

Notice is hereby given under Section 21 of the Planning Act 2016 that on 29 May 2018, Hinchinbrook Shire Council adopted a Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP) for the Hinchinbrook Shire Planning Scheme 2017.

The purpose and general effects of the LGIP are listed below.

• Integrate infrastructure planning with land use planning identified in the planning scheme.
• Provide transparency regarding Council’s intentions for the provision of trunk infrastructure.
• Enable Council to estimate the cost of infrastructure provision to assist with long term financial planning.
• Ensure trunk infrastructure is planned and provided in an efficient and orderly manner.
• Provide a basis for the imposition of conditions about infrastructure on development approvals.

The LGIP will have effect as from 2 July 2018.

From 2 July 2018 the Planning Act 2016, aligned Hinchinbrook Shire Planning Scheme 2017 and Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP):

1. will be available for inspection or purchase at the Hinchinbrook Shire Council, 25 Lannercost Street, Ingham.
2. can be viewed online and downloaded online at www.hinchinbrook.qld.gov.au.
