The Queensland Government has recently changed the criteria which is applied when determining whether someone qualifies for the Pensioner Subsidy.
This change means that more pensioners now qualify for this Subsidy. However, this change is not automatically applied, pensioners have to apply for it.
To receive the Subsidy, you must hold one of the following concession cards and the rated property must be your principal place of residence:
- Queensland Pensioner Concession Card
- Repatriation Health (Veterans) Card – for all conditions (Gold Card)
Pensioners seeking this Subsidy are required to complete an Application for Pensioner Concession and Subsidy form which is available from Council’s Main Office 25 Lannercost Street, Ingham and on Council’s website, Rates, Fees and Charges page.
