Dr Jenna Devietti, Hinchinbrook Shire Council Works Engineer
Jenna has had a long association with Council that started during her school years when she participated in the work experience program with a placement at the Library. Upon completing her secondary schooling, Jenna commenced a Bachelor of Engineering (Environmental) at university. She was engaged in vocational employment in the Design department for three consecutive years during her uni breaks which gave her the opportunity to put to practice some of her theoretical knowledge. In 2002, Jenna was successful in obtaining the position of Design Engineer. Jenna continued to study her Degree whilst working and graduated in 2004.
Jenna is testament to the mantra that women can do anything as she has since completed her Doctor of Philosophy (Engineering), is a mother to three children and works on a full time basis as Councils Works Engineer overseeing the operation of Councils works services.

Mitchell commenced with Council in 2009 as a fresh-faced, enthusiastic school leaver after being successful in obtaining a Cadetship in Surveying. Mitchell’s cadetship involved full time employment with council as well as full financial support to undertake an Associate Degree in Spatial Science, majoring in Surveying on a part time basis.
Mitchell completed this qualification in 2013 and continued his employment with council in surveying. Mitchell has since furthered his studies in the spatial science industry by completing the Bachelor of Spatial Science Technology in 2016. Mitchell is currently working towards his registration as a surveyor with the QLD Surveyors Board and is recommencing study in 2018 to undertake the Bachelor of Spatial Science (Honours).
During his 8.5 years with council he has had the benefit of full time employment coupled with on the job learning and hands on exposure to various facets of surveying to aid his academic aspirations and goals.
