Doing Business with Council has never been easier - Council Launches New Website

Council is pleased to announce the launch of our new website. The new site has been built to make it easier for residents to access Council related information, promote our region and communicate with residents. By embracing new technologies that are available, we have been able to facilitate more ways for the community to participate in public consultations and have their say on issues that affect them, we have also simplified application and permitting processes and streamlined doing business with Council.

Key pages on the site include the Make a Request page where community members can make a request, provide feedback or raise an issue with Council, the Current Procurement and Tender Opportunities page, this page is kept up-to-date with all Council procurement and tender opportunities and the Public Consultation page where residents can see any current community consultations and have their opinion heard.

Other key features include the option to make online payments, promote a community event through the Community Events Calendar and register for Council’s online Business Directory Listing.

Please note that as the site has just been launched some search engines may find pages that no longer exist, if you land on a page that can’t be found please use the menu to navigate to the information you are looking for.

Dog Breeding

May I please bring to your attention changes to State Government legislation effective as of 26 May 2017 which will affect many residents in the habit of breeding dogs. It is now unlawful for a person to sell, or give away, their dogs or puppies unless that person is registered as a breeder. A breeder is defined as any person who has or is responsible for, any female dog that has a litter.  Fines may be quite severe, so please seek further advice by visiting the Biosecurity Queensland website at www.biosecurity.qld.gov.au or call 13 25 23 if you have been accustomed to breeding dogs and intend to continue with such practice.

Have you taken a great picture of our beautiful region? Share it with us at hscmedia@hinchinbrook.qld.gov.au for the opportunity to have it featured on our new Corporate Website.
