A friendly reminder that COVID-19 is still well and truly about within our community with health authorities now warning of a third wave sweeping the nation.
You can help yourselves prepare as best as possible to possibly avoid COVID-19 by remembering the few things that have kept us relatively healthy in the past:
This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard QF14 Ingham Flotilla.
An open day was held at the Coast Guard base at Lucinda on Saturday 9 July 2022 followed by a special dinner to mark this significant milestone.
Over the years many people have been involved in the flotilla from radio operators to boat crew, or behind the scenes in administration or fundraising and we recognise and acknowledge the contributions of all those people for their significant and unselfish service to the people of this region.
Council has engaged a consultant to prepare a Masterplan for the New Ingham Cemetery.
The aim of the Masterplan is to coordinate the development of the site and consider the potential for beautification and efficiencies whilst offering more interment choices throughout the New Ingham Cemetery.
Council is seeking feedback on the New Ingham Cemetery draft Masterplan before finalising. To provide your feedback, please visit Council's website, Public Consultation page. Feedback closes 5.00pm Wednesday 20 July 2022.

On Saturday 2 July 2022, 72 children and caregivers flocked to the Hinchinbrook Shire Library to join the author of the Funky Chicken books, Chris Collin, as he read his stories, spoke with his puppet friends and engaged everyone in the wonders of literature.
Families had the opportunity to purchase the Funky Chicken books and have them signed by the author, each with a unique message.
The Funky Chicken books each come with a backing orchestral track with narration and a song to engage with children of all abilities.
Families can loan the Funky Chicken books from the Hinchinbrook Shire Library, or purchase a copy of the books for themselves locally at Ingham Underagers.

Council has been successful with an application to the Regional Sport Events Fund on behalf of Tropical North Showjumping in the sum of $6,700.
Tropical North Showjumping Coaching Clinic North Qld will be hosted on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 September 2022 at the Ingham Showgrounds Multipurpose Sports Arena.
With the assistance of this funding, Tropical North Showjumping will host the Clinic over two days to provide Showjumping enthusiasts with the opportunity to learn from first class show jumping coaches and further their skills.
This funding makes it affordable to regional riders who would otherwise never get this opportunity and the coaching provides a great relaxed experience for community members to mix with like minded people and assist riders to further their skills in this sport.
Riders are encouraged to attend as a range of coaches and times will be provided to suit people travelling from afar.
