Notice to Motorists - Bruce Highway closure between Greenvale Street and Saunders Beach Road

Bruce Highway closed from 10.00pm Wednesday 24 January 2018 until 4.00am Thursday 25 January 2018

The Department of Transport and Main Roads has advised that the Bruce Highway at Yabulu will be temporarily closed to allow the removal of part of the railway overpass north of Greenvale Street. This overpass was damaged in a recent incident and one span is being removed to ensure the safety of road users.

These works will be undertaken at night to reduce the impact to traffic. Traffic will not be able to travel on the Bruce Highway between Greenvale Street and Saunders Beach Road during the times of closure: 10pm Wednesday 24 January until 4am Thursday 25 January 2018.

These arrangements are necessary for the safety of passing motorists while the demolition of the overpass is underway. Traffic controllers will be onsite while works are underway to ensure access for emergency services.
