Council advises that Wallaman Falls Road has now been REOPENED to all traffic under CONTROLLED CONDITIONS.
The controlled conditions include two sections of road, approximately 5km from the bottom of the range, which are only open to one lane of traffic at a time.
The sections under controlled conditions are due to land slips that have occurred as a result of recent flooding and rainfall. These areas will remain under controlled conditions until such time that a permanent repair can be affected, which is expected to take several months.
Motorists are reminded that it is necessary to strictly adhere to all traffic signage, including speed restrictions and the requirement for descending traffic to stop at the nominated locations to allow ascending traffic right of way.
