Media Release - Wallaman Falls Reopens under Controlled Conditions

Council advises that Wallaman Falls Road has now been REOPENED to all traffic under CONTROLLED CONDITIONS.

The sections under controlled conditions are due to land slips that have occurred as a result of recent flooding and rainfall. These areas will remain under controlled operation until such time that a permanent repair can be affected, which is expected to take several months.

Mayor Ramon Jayo said ‘Motorists are reminded that it is necessary to strictly adhere to all traffic signage, including speed restrictions and the requirement for descending traffic to stop at the nominated locations to allow ascending traffic right of way.’
