Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) wishes to advise that the river heights are beginning to fall in the upper reaches of the Catchment, and that the expected flood peak may not reach 5m at Halifax.
The next BOM advice is expected to be issued at 10.00am today, and residents are urged to continue monitoring the BOM website bom.gov.au/qld/warnings for further weather warnings and updates.
Hinchinbrook Shire Council advises the Halifax Washaway is still closed at this stage and updates will be provided as they come to hand. Anabranch Bridge remains open and is the alternate route for Lower Herbert residents.
Motorists are reminded that there may be water over roads throughout the district and extensive care should be exercised when driving.
