Media Release - Tea And Trivia a Hit With Local Trivia Buffs

15th March 2019

Monthly Tea and Trivia Morning Teas have been a hit with local trivia buffs with over 50 people attending the February event this year.

Deputy Mayor Mary Brown said “It’s fantastic to see the enthusiasm and skill that so many locals are bringing to the Tea and Trivia events. Due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback from the community, the morning teas have been extended and will run from February to October this year, having previously been run from April to September.”

Cr Brown believes the success of the morning tea events could be attributed to the friendly and positive environment that the morning teas foster.

“Staff create a wonderful event, making all guests feel welcome and invited. It is a very enjoyable way to get together and connect within the community.”

Kaye Bowden of Forrest Beach has said that “meeting old and new friends” is her favourite part of the morning teas and that the “food is lovely”.

Tea and Trivia Morning Teas are held from 9.30am to 11.00am on the last Friday of each month between February and October at the TYTO Conference and Events Centre. Cost of the event is $8.50 for local Seniors and $13.50 for non-seniors.

Dates for the 2019 Tea and Trivia Morning Teas are as follows: 29 March, 26 April, 31 May, 28 June, 26 July, 30 August, 27 September and 25 October.

Bookings can be made via phone 4776 4614 or via email events@hinchinbrook.qld.gov.au.
