Dredging of Victoria Creek Channel, Taylors Beach is set to commence Wednesday, 8 August 2018.
Mayor Ramon Jayo said ‘Taylors beach plays a significant recreation role for our local community and visitors to the district, and maintaining safe access to the local water ways is important’.
‘Works to dredge the channel will involve excavating an area approximately 30 metres wide, with the excavated sand used to replenish erosion prone areas on the beach front near the stinger net’, Cr Jayo said.
Works will take place at low tide between Wednesday 8 August and Monday 13 August 2018, usage of the boat ramp during this time may be impacted by the works however all efforts will be made to minimise this during the dredging.
