Media Release - Rotary Park Works

24th June 2021

Council is pleased to announce that the new Rotary Park playground equipment has been installed and is expected to be reopened to the public in July, weather permitting.

Demolition of the old playground has occurred and fitting of new parkland irrigation works is being finalised.

Additional works including concreting works for new seating, tables and pathways are complete. New improved fencing to protect children at play is also planned in the coming weeks.

Tenders are being called for the installation of shade sails as part of the Rotary Park upgrade.

The project is jointly funded by the Australian Government and Queensland Government in association with Hinchinbrook Shire Council.

Demolition and concreting works are being undertaken by local contractor Keita Services and fencing is being installed by local contractor Moore Fencing.

“It is great to see all three levels of Government working together to deliver funding for Ingham. Mayor Ramon Jayo, and State MP, Nick Dametto, are great fighters for the people of the Hinchinbrook region.

Ingham has many great cafes and shops that tourists enjoy visiting as they move up and down the Bruce Highway.

So hopefully the new and improved Rotary Park can continue to attract people to stop and enjoy the town. The playground will also be a great asset for local families.” Said Bob Katter MP for Kennedy.
