Media Release - Public Meeting - Sports Reserve, Dungeness Road, Lucinda

14th November 2018

Council has commenced public consultation regarding potential changes for the future use of the Sports Reserve on Dungeness Road, Lucinda, to facilitate land for development.

The land is currently reserved for sport and recreation.

Mayor Ramon Jayo said, “Council’s vision for the Sports Reserve, Dungeness Road is to establish a land bank for future Residential, Mixed Use, Tourism or Commercial purposes.”

“Lucinda is currently land locked, and opportunities for development are limited. Lucinda needs room to grow. The public consultation provides the community with an opportunity to discuss options for future uses with Council for the benefit of the community.”

A public meeting will take place at Lucinda Point Hotel on Tuesday 27 November 2018 at 5:30pm. Residents and Landowners at Lucinda will have the opportunity to meet with Councillors and senior staff to discuss and provide feedback regarding Council’s vision for the Reserve.

If you are unable to attend the public consultation meeting, feedback can be provided in writing and can be delivered to Council:

  • In Person at Council’s main office, 25 Lannercost St, Ingham
  • Via Council’s website, Public Consultation page
  • By Email: council@hinchinbrook.qld.gov.au
  • By Post: PO Box 366, Ingham QLD 4850

Further information is available on Council’s website, Public Consultation page.

Written and electronic submissions close 5.00pm, Wednesday 19 December 2018.
