The Hinchinbrook Shire is set to host one of Australia’s Major Performing Arts Companies Opera Queensland for an adventure through some of opera’s most memorable moments.
Join Opera Queensland stars on an adventure through Carmen, Madama Butterfly, Rigoletto, and Don Giovanni balanced by lighter, popular pieces along with plenty of anecdotes, laughs, and good times. Come along and experience the wonder, magic and joy of opera.
Hinchinbrook Shire Council, Deputy Mayor Mary Brown has said ‘This is a wonderful opportunity to bring a world class operatic experience to our community. Set at the magical TYTO Amphitheatre the performance is sure to delight and inspire audiences of all ages.’
Featuring OperaQ favourites – Emily Burke, Victoria Lambourn, Rosario La Spina and Shaun Brown – the performance will mix shining moments of operatic splendour with edgy cabaret-style performance at close range.
The artists will greet and mingle with the audience on arrival, before they gradually draw them in to a “rehearsal”, sharing the stories of the scenes they will perform. Steadily the stage is transformed by opera performers in magnificent costumes and a splash of theatre magic.
