Are you active, adventurous, enthusiastic and willing to give back to your community? Then becoming a State Emergency Services (SES) volunteer might be right up your ally.
The Hinchinbrook SES is calling for dedicated volunteers to join the unit and assist in the response to disaster and emergency events.
Hinchinbrook Local Controller Rodger Bow reiterated the value of becoming a volunteer with the SES.
‘By joining the Queensland SES you will make a life changing commitment to contribute to the betterment of the community during disasters and emergencies locally, state-wide and nationally. Volunteers of the SES have the opportunity to participate in training, learn new skills and make lifelong friendships,’ Rodger Bow said.
Mayor Ramon Jayo reiterated the importance of the SES within the community.
‘We live in a region which is prone to extreme weather events. SES volunteers play an important and necessary role not only in the disaster response but also to the recovery of the region. I strongly urge able members of the community to consider becoming a volunteer with the SES.’
Members can join from the age 16.
