16th July 2018

Hinchinbrook Shire Council and event partners will be hosting a Seniors Morning Tea and Lifestyle Expo with the theme of ‘Walking on Sunshine’ to celebrate Seniors Week.

The morning tea which will take place from 9am – midday, Friday 24 August at the Shire Hall will include entertainment from the Sing Australia choir, Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School choir, Saint Peters Catholic Primary School choir, Jordan Friday solo artist and many more. Morning Tea will consist of savoury, sweets, sandwiches, coffee, tea, juice and water. An array of lifestyle information and health checks available.

Mayor Ramon Jayo said ‘Seniors Week is an opportunity to celebrate the valuable contributions of older people. Many older people assist their families with caring responsibilities whilst being actively involved in their communities through volunteering and passing on their knowledge and experience to others. Seniors Week provides an opportunity to bring together all Queenslanders, through events and activities, to celebrate the contribution seniors make within their communities.’
