Chief Executive Officer of Hinchinbrook Shire Council Dan McKinlay has announced his pending retirement from the role. Mr McKinlay has held the position for the past 3 years but recent health concerns has led to his decision to stand down and as a result, he will not be returning to the role noting that he is currently on leave.
Hinchinbrook Mayor Ramon Jayo said “It is a sad day for the Council and the greater Hinchinbrook community losing the administrative leader of the organisation who has made a true contribution over the past 3 years”. He accepted the decision of Mr McKinlay recognising the challenges of the role and his desire to focus on his health and well being.
Mayor Jayo said “Council will shortly commence the recruitment process for a new CEO to lead the organisation”.
