Townsville Enterprise Limited is developing a new Destination Tourism Plan which requires local input. This new plan will set the strategic direction and priorities for the Townsville North Queensland tourism industry for the next five years.
Townsville Enterprise Ltd is hosting a series of Destination Tourism Plan Workshops to gather insight, feedback and contribution for the plan from local operators, community and industry stakeholders.
Workshops will discuss and discover what the key drivers of tourism are for our region. This will include what our strengths are and how we can leverage these, the challenges we face and how we address them, what can be done to enhance the visitor experience and how our operators can play a part in growing the tourism industry.
The Hinchinbrook workshop will be held from 5.00pm to 7.00pm on Monday 6 August 2018 at the TYTO Conference and Event Centre.
Cr Mary Brown has said, ‘I strongly encourage all businesses who have any involvement in tourism to take the opportunity to attend this very important workshop, which will have a significant impact on the future tourism development direction for our Shire. This includes traditional operators, as well as retailers, hospitality, accommodation and transport businesses and many other local service providers.’
