Hinchinbrook Shire Council would like to advise that testing of water bores continues following slightly elevated levels of PFAS being detected in July of 2018.
Mayor Ramon Jayo reassured the community that Council would continue to monitor PFAS levels in the water supply and the affected bore would remain off line.
‘As we continue to monitor local water supply locations I would like to reassure the community that no further elevated PFAS levels have been detected in the Shire.’
‘The affected bore was immediately switched off in July and remains off line; the water supply is safe to drink and testing will continue on a monthly basis.’
