Ageing in Place Advisory Committee

A meeting of Council’s Ageing in Place Advisory Committee took place at Council Chambers on Wednesday 29 August 2018.  The purpose of the committee is to inform Council on emerging issues regarding the wellbeing of older people within the community and ways community services can be maximised and ageing in place enhanced.

Issues arising from the meeting included the need to continue with preparation and distribution of information regarding availability of services to the community at large.

It was also resolved that case studies as to the actual problems being experienced on ground by the elderly in the Hinchinbrook area be prepared for submission to the Minister  for Ageing and that an invitation to the Minister to attend a forum to discuss matters pertinent to our district be issued.

20th Birthday Celebrations

A big congratulations to McDonalds Ingham on celebrating 20 years of operation in Ingham on Friday 7 September 2018.  Part of the celebrations saw the opening of a time capsule, which was buried in 1998.  Contents included much memorabilia from the opening ceremony and a menu and price list from the day.

A sincere thank you to McDonalds management over the years for providing employment and training opportunities for the junior members of our community.  Keep up the good work.
